With the Holidays just days away it is not time to sit back and relax.  Believe it or not this is the time of year you need to RAMP UP your networking efforts!

That’s right; it is right now, this Holiday week that you want to be trying to network with as many people as possible.  This is the time you should be scheduling “networking” lunch meetings with clients, referral partners, etc.

Why is this the most important time of the year to be investing more time in networking?

That’s right; it is right now, this Holiday week that you want to be trying to network with as many people as possible.  This is the time you should be scheduling “networking” lunch meetings with clients, referral partners, etc.

Why is this the most important time of the year to be investing more time in networking? 

This is the time of year when the people we network with are going to be seeing their friends and family, the very people we want to be referred to!  This is the time of year they will hear the conversations that should lead to great referrals for us.  That is if they know how to listen for the right conversations and triggers, and it is our job to teach them how to do that.

Far too many people look at the Holidays as “time off”, but we know as business owners, and sales professionals, that there is no such thing.  If we want people to pass us referrals we need to teach them exactly how to do that.  For many we personally need to learn HOW to teach others to do that, and that is why we created www.SuccessThroughReferrals.com.

Now, networking is a yearlong activity, but we should be taking advantage of the opportunities the Holidays provide us.  We need to get out more this week, and frankly last week, teaching as many people as possible how to find us those referrals when they are at their Holiday parties.  We also want to be front of mind with these people, and they only way to do that is to BE IN FRONT OF THEM.

If you want to end your 2012 year strong, and stimulate your 2013, it is important to not rest and get out there networking.  Differentiate yourself from your competitors and don’t hibernate during these winter months.  Don’t allow yourself to accept the excuse that things “slow down” during the Holidays and no one wants to meet.  Don’t give yourself the excuse that it is OK to take your foot off the gas that is driving your business.

The truth is things do slow down for many people during the Holidays, and that provides us even more opportunity to get in front of them and network with them.  Fill your calendar with networking appointments and teach others how to help you make your business more efficient, more effective, and most importantly more enjoyable.
